Becky Brewerton joins Vision Express’ Vision Van during The Scottish Golf Show 2019 (22nd to 24th March 2019)
Visitors to The Scottish Golf Show were encouraged to take better care of their sight by golf star Becky Brewerton, after Vision Express revealed almost 80% of visitors to its Vision Van were overdue an eye test.
Becky – one of the UK’s most recognisable female golfers – took advantage of the free eye test offer on board the Vision Van as it parked up at the SEC arena, Glasgow for the three-day golf event, from Friday 22nd to 24th March.
“I had laser eye surgery a few years ago but I had a feeling that my astigmatism might have come back,” explained Becky, who is supported by Lynx Golf. “Sure enough, there is a prescription there. It’s definitely worth having an eye test to be sure. Thank you to the team on board the Vision Van – it’s a great idea and great to see Vision Express at The Scottish Golf Show.”
The award-winning initiative revealed 78% of golf enthusiasts who visited the Vision Van were overdue a sight check, with 16% admitting to never having had an eye test before and a quarter found to have not had their eye sight checked since passing their driving test.
Dan McGhee, Director of Professional Services at Vision Express, commented: “It’s a huge concern that 16% of visitors to our Vision Van at The Scottish Golf Show had never had their eyes tested before. Maintaining a regular eye health routine is essential for safeguarding good sight and keeping on top of your general health. That’s why our Vision Van is so important – taking eye tests to the public and taking cost out of the equation.”
